Welcome to this year’s pan-European TWIKE Adventure.
Long-time readers will notice that this trip does not follow the usual format of “TDxx####” for Tour de xx of year ####.
This journey has a clear focus: tracing the borders of Hungary. I already know Hungary reasonably well, and this route gives me the chance to explore regions that are still new to me, including eastern Croatia, Romania, Ukraine and eastern Slovakia.
The current plan for the trip looks like this:
I am planning to set off at the end of July and into the beginning of August, when the days are long and the route should offer plenty of time for travel and exploration.
There is still some preparation ahead. Travelling into Ukraine, for example, will see me looking into insurance and formalities etc.
