For the last few weeks I’ve been working continuously on refining the route for my trip as the days until my departure are melting away rapidly!

Specifically, since I’ve decided to concentrate on the Carpathian Mountain range, I’ve researched the roads in Romania and, boy, are there some nice ones to choose from!
The featured post image above is from Romania’s famous mountain road Transfăgărășan – a stretch of road winding its way across the southern ridge of the Carpathians.
It just opened mid-June and according to this article, drivers are advised about the frequent presence of bears along the mountain pass road.
The other famous stretch of road I’ve chosen is the so-called Transalpina – ‘the King’s road’. The images are either breathtaking or scary, depending on the source. I’ll let you decide:

The rest of the trip will continue to follow the Carpathians closely across the rest of Romania, Ukraine and Slovakia.

There are still some questions regarding insurance that need to be clarified, TW560’s battery pack needs another balancing session and some pre-trip TLC from my favourite mechanic Andi from ksenotek.ch.
Otherwise, I’m ready and really looking forward to this pan-European adventure!
